About Me
Welcome to 3rd Grade! My name is Ada Rappeport, and I am looking forward to having your children in my classroom this year. This will be my sixth year teaching at Redding STEM Academy.
In all aspects of my life, I consider myself an educator and a lifelong learner. I am passionate about helping children enrich their lives through knowledge. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than that “light-bulb” moment that learners have when they grasp a new concept that I have presented. In the past, I have taught 4th grade, as well as preschool. Prior to coming to R-STEM in 2016, I worked with young adults and adults teaching computer and basic academic skills. I am also interested in the Maker Movement, and I was instrumental in bringing the Shasta County Mini Maker Faire to Redding in 2016 and 2018. I was honored to have been selected as one of the five teachers featured in KIXE's Big Education Event of 2017. I was again honored to have been selected as one of the 30 teachers for the Shasta Celebrates Teachers event in January of 2020. I look forward to working with your children this coming year.
I grew up in the North State and have been in Redding for over 20 years now. I am married to Robert, and we have two children, Ethan and Sofie. Ethan graduated with honors from U-Prep in 2019, and he completed his general education studies at Shasta College in May of 2021. Sofie will be a Senior at U-Prep, and she plays soccer year-round. I enjoy the beauty of the area that we live in, but I also love to travel and explore new places and cultures. I have been fortunate to visit many places in the world, and in each place I have visited, I have met people who have inspired me.
Five quotes that inspire and guide me as a teacher:
I am looking forward to a great new school year, and I look forward to meeting you all in August.
